Briefings
Mozilla updated Firefox's Smart Window with an AI feature that automatically fills online forms using data from open tabs, such as LinkedIn profiles for job applications. Users can select specific tabs to include, and the browser generates suggestions based on the selected content. This feature requires at least four text fields to activate.
Key points
- Firefox's Smart Window now includes AI capabilities to automatically populate online forms using data from open tabs, such as extracting work history from LinkedIn profiles.
- Users can configure which specific tabs contribute data to form suggestions, and the browser generates tailored suggestions based on the selected tab contents.
Context
Mozilla announced this update in October 2026 as part of its AI-powered browsing experience improvements. The feature allows users to streamline form completion by leveraging information from other open tabs, though it requires manual selection of relevant tabs and meets a minimum of four text field requirements.
Limitations
Evidence is limited to a single article from The Verge dated October 2026. Specific implementation details, testing results, or user feedback are not provided. The feature requires manual tab selection and has a minimum four-field requirement, with no data on performance, accuracy rates, or user adoption.
