Briefings
Bitcoin and Ethereum are exploring different approaches to post-quantum security. Ethereum allows contract verification of alternative signatures, while Bitcoin's P2MR proposal does not inherently add post-quantum signatures. The article suggests Ethereum's technical capability differs from Bitcoin's current proposal.
Key points
- Ethereum contracts can verify alternative signatures using existing mechanisms.
- Bitcoin's P2MR proposal does not inherently add post-quantum signatures.
Context
Bitcoin and Ethereum are exploring different approaches to post-quantum security. Ethereum allows contract verification of alternative signatures, while Bitcoin's P2MR proposal does not inherently add post-quantum signatures. The article suggests Ethereum's technical capability differs from Bitcoin's current proposal.
Limitations
Evidence is limited to a single article snippet. No specific dates, numbers, or named actors are provided. The article does not state whether these are current capabilities or future plans.
