Briefings

President of the Chega party, André Ventura, accused President of the Republic José Pedro Aguiar-Branco of blocking a parliamentary inquiry into the mandates of Luís Neves in the PJ. Ventura stated the party will demand an urgent debate on Friday regarding the alleged obstruction of the investigation. The inquiry previously faced three rejections due to insufficient evidence, excessive latitude, and concerns about broader illegalities involving the current minister. Ventura defended the right to conduct the inquiry simultaneously with the State budget discussion, citing precedents with the Gêmeas case. He also criticized the PS secretary-general for facilitating the budget before reviewing documents and accused José Luís Carneiro of being a 'shadow minister' responsible for housing fuel and credit issues.
