Briefings
Aneel confirmed that electricity tariffs will not have extra charges in November 2026 due to favorable generation conditions. The green flag tariff resumed in October after five months of yellow, which incurs an additional R$ 1.885 per 100 kWh for SIN-connected consumers. This follows a 2026 transmission auction with eight lots, where Aneel noted that increased rainfall in hydro regions helped balance reservoirs, reducing the need for more expensive thermal power. The tariff system, created in 2015, reflects variable generation costs, with green indicating no extra charge and yellow/red/amber indicating surcharges based on generation cost predictions.

Limitations
Evidence covers only November 2026 tariff status and October 2026 flag status. No data on future years, specific consumer impact beyond SIN, or regional hydro conditions beyond affected areas is provided. Uncertainty exists regarding long-term tariff stability and future auction outcomes.
