Pablo Hernandez de Cos and Klaas Knot were the primary contenders, with Kyriakos Pierrakakis noting that both had received the Eurogroup's recommendation. The Eurogroup president indicated that the final decision would be made at a November 9 meeting, though no choice was announced yet.
