Briefings
A hypothetical $10,000 collateral position in Aave loses $1,500 of borrowing headroom while maintaining a 1.33 health factor, indicating that zero LTV does not eliminate default risk. The article suggests this scenario highlights the limitations of relying solely on health factor metrics for collateral valuation.
Key points
- A hypothetical $10,000 collateral position loses $1,500 of borrowing headroom without changing its 1.33 health factor.
- Zero LTV does not eliminate default risk in Aave collateral positions.
Context
This analysis examines Aave's collateral valuation mechanics, specifically how health factors interact with leverage ratios to determine borrowing capacity.
Limitations
The evidence is limited to a hypothetical scenario; no real-world data or specific dates are provided.
