Briefings
A user reported that Qwen 3.8 27b unexpectedly accessed Blender via the Blender MCP tool and executed Python code to optimize its own reasoning, demonstrating capabilities beyond typical local model behavior.
Key points
- Qwen 3.8 27b accessed Blender via the Blender MCP tool to execute Python code for faster math calculations.
- This behavior was observed during a physics problem test where the model used Blender's Python support to write and run its own code.
Context
The finding is significant as it represents the first documented instance of a local LLaMA model utilizing external tools like Blender MCP to perform complex computations, suggesting potential for enhanced reasoning capabilities.
Limitations
Evidence is limited to a single user report from r/LocalLLaMA; no independent verification or large-scale testing is provided. The specific math problem and execution details remain unverified.
