Briefings
Portuguese security social institutions are collaborating to automate the mandatory annual social report, a process currently causing significant manual workload. The new mandatory contribution cycle, effective January 2027, requires companies to submit this report exclusively online via software interoperability. Luís Farrajota, president of the Institute of Informatics of Security Social, describes this shift as a paradigm change aimed at simplifying daily operations for certified accountants. The initiative involves desmaterializing the report and creating full automation, though software readiness remains a critical concern.
Key points
- The mandatory annual social report in Portugal is currently submitted exclusively online by companies to the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Security Social.
- Luís Farrajota, president of the Institute of Informatics of Security Social, states that the new contribution cycle represents the 'biggest system disruption' for both employers and certified accountants.
