Briefings

BBC and Channel 4 are negotiating with the UK government to form a joint venture aimed at reducing costs and countering streaming platforms. The BBC plans to cut 550 jobs by March 2027 as part of a £500 million savings plan. Channel 4 has already eliminated approximately 340 jobs, representing over a quarter of its workforce. The new entity would share equal ownership between the two broadcasters, potentially leveraging accumulated revenue from the joint structure.
