Briefings
Interpol publicly records Richard Heart as a fugitive from Finland for aggravated tax fraud, a status confirmed by Turkish media reporting. This detention occurred in 2026, shortly after his SEC case was dismissed in 2025, suggesting a potential shift in legal strategy or jurisdictional focus. The evidence indicates a formal international request for extradition, though the specific timeline of the detention relative to the SEC dismissal remains unclear.
Key points
- Interpol publicly identifies Richard Heart as a fugitive from Finland for aggravated tax fraud, a status confirmed by Turkish media reporting.
- Richard Heart's separate SEC case was dismissed in 2025, yet Interpol lists him as a fugitive, suggesting a potential shift in legal strategy or jurisdictional focus.
Context
Richard Heart is a former SEC executive whose securities fraud conviction was overturned in 2025. Interpol has issued a public record identifying him as a fugitive from Finland for aggravated tax fraud, a status confirmed by Turkish media reporting. This detention occurred in 2026, shortly after his SEC case was dismissed, suggesting a potential shift in legal strategy or jurisdictional focus.
Limitations
Evidence is limited to Interpol's public record and Turkish media reporting; specific dates of the detention relative to the SEC dismissal are unclear.
