Briefings

Portuguese economist Mario Centeno criticized the 2024-2026 government's fiscal management, arguing that public spending growth was driven by socialist policies and temporary programs rather than sustainable budgeting. He claimed the government lacked technical competence and academic credentials, labeling the situation as a 'Complex of Harvard.' The article uses specific fiscal data from the Public Finance Council (CPF) to support these claims, though it does not name the government officials directly. The evidence focuses on budgetary trends and program impacts rather than direct accusations of corruption or personal misconduct.
