Briefings

OurCal is a calendar synchronization tool that integrates with existing calendar systems via a group chat, offering end-to-end encryption certified by France's cybersecurity agency. It is a native SwiftUI application available on Apple platforms with a free trial and optional subscription, featuring a chef's kiss icon and no ads or tracking.

Key points

• OurCal connects any calendar, new or existing, to a group chat where changes post automatically.
• The app is native SwiftUI across Apple's platforms and was featured in the App Store's 'Great apps on iPhone Duo'.

Context

OurCal addresses the common issue where shared calendars solve scheduling but fail to ensure communication. It provides a messenger-based solution with end-to-end encryption, making it a viable alternative to traditional calendar apps.

Limitations

Evidence is limited to a single article snapshot from November 2026. Specific user adoption numbers, subscription pricing details beyond the trial, and long-term security performance data are not provided.
