Briefings

IHRU President Benjamim Pereira admitted his housing statements were not entirely 'happy' due to perceived lack of young people's sacrifice, while Minister Miguel Pinto Luz criticized the remarks as nostalgic. Pereira rejected claims that young people lacked difficulties or suffered consequences, instead emphasizing the government's success in housing measures like the IRS Jovem and public guarantees. The IHRU highlighted 31,700 housing units delivered under the PRR, though critics note the government did not explicitly mention the right to protest or the reasons for emigration.
