Briefings
Research on Rydberg-atom arrays reveals that scarred dynamics (N\'eel state) occupy a vanishing fraction of configuration space despite extensive revivals, while polarized dynamics (polarized state) occupy a finite fraction near anticoncentration. A weak quasiperiodic field allows the polarized state to occupy half the space, whereas the N\'eel state requires a stronger field to achieve comparable anticoncentration. The study quantifies Fock-space delocalization across these dynamics, showing nonmonotonic dependence on field strength without implying localization.
Key points
- The N\'eel state exhibits scarred dynamics characterized by revivals but occupies a vanishing fraction of the full configuration space in the thermodynamic limit.
- The polarized state exhibits thermalizing dynamics and occupies a finite fraction of the configuration space, close to anticoncentration and random-state statistics.
Context
Quantum many-body dynamics in Rydberg-atom arrays are studied using PXP dynamics initialized from the paradigmatic polarized and N\'eel states. These states exhibit striking revivals despite many-body complexity, making the question of wave function delocalization critical.
Limitations
The study quantifies occupied fractions in the thermodynamic limit but does not provide data for finite system sizes. The specific field strengths required to reach anticoncentration for the N\'eel state are not numerically specified, only that they are stronger than for the polarized state.
