Briefings
Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced early production of the Optimus humanoid robot on its high-volume line in Fremont, California, as of October 2026. However, Musk explicitly stated that significant work remains on AI capabilities, robot safety, reliability, and durability before the device can be considered truly useful for open-ended tasks. The article notes that the company expects more humanoid robots to outnumber humans on Earth at some point, but this does not confirm immediate readiness for mass deployment.
