Briefings
The Portuguese government and ANA (Aeroportos e Navegabilidade Aérea) disagree on who pays for airport construction expropriations in Lisbon. The government claims the concession contract excludes state liability for land expropriation, while ANA insists these costs must be state-funded. The airport project continues with over 300 workers in Portugal, but land contamination and runway design remain unresolved. The airport is expected to operate in 2026, with runway expansion planned for 2082.
