Briefings

Business Roundtable Portugal (BRP) argues that Portugal's 2027 State Budget (OE2027) should focus on three axes to grow national wealth: boosting productive investment, improving business conditions for scale, and reducing tax burdens on income above the minimum wage. The BRP Secretary-General, Pedro Ginjeira do Nascimento, stated that without improving productivity, higher minimum wages will not lead to better salaries or economic growth. He noted that Portugal has grown less than EU competitors over 25-26 years and lost competitiveness, emphasizing that investment must be productive to create new tools for workers.
