Briefings
Portugal authorized ENSE to undertake a multi-year rehabilitation of NATO's POL NATO storage facility in Almada, costing nearly 6 million euros. The project covers two years, with 2.23 million euros spent in 2025 and 3.74 million euros allocated for 2026. The facility stores critical petroleum reserves for Atlantic fleet logistics, and its 1960s age required significant safety upgrades. Funding constraints from Montenegro's executive limit the total expenditure to 5.96 million euros, including VAT.
