Briefings

A Brazilian government stated that rural crises will not occur due to the Nature Restoration Plan, but warned that without state budget inclusion for 2027, the country risks failing European targets.

Key points

• The government stated that rural crises will not occur due to the Nature Restoration Plan.
• Failure to include the plan in the 2027 state budget risks failing European targets.

Context

The CNADS presented the plan at the Parliament, claiming it would not cause agricultural crises. However, the evidence indicates the plan is not yet in the 2027 state budget, which is a critical condition for meeting European environmental goals.

Limitations

The evidence is limited to a parliamentary statement and a warning about budget inclusion. It does not confirm the plan's implementation status, nor does it provide data on agricultural impacts or European target specifics.
